I served In the Big E from 27th January 1969 to 13th April 1971. It was my first ship and, even after almost thirty years in the mob, it is still the best ship I ever served In.

Great website - it brought back loads of memories. Cheers.

I served In HMS Eagle during her last commision as an OEMn 1 (Weapon Mech) caring for DC power and generation, A/C plants and many other electrical items.

I Had a wonderful time aboard her except for the LOC Plant fire which was a bit 'Hairy'!!
Wonder if any other Weapon Mechs remember me.

Just found this site and found it of great interest and good memories. I was a LAM a/e on 849d flight from 1969 to 1972.Brilliant three years and a very happy crew.Visited some fabulous places.
Couldn't beat the concerts on a Saturday night at sea.Did anyone find the dentists chair after the lox explosion in 1971?

Did a very quick stint on the Eagle as a loan draft sometime in the mid 60's as a RO(S. I remember spending a lot of time on the flag deck watching aircraft come and go. If any guys out there are looking for a holiday with a difference, in the year round sun of the Philippines take a look at my web-site. All serving and ex RN will be made very welcome.

Dear Sir,

I am a fan of Singapore Sixties music and I bought THE dee-tees, Philips EP many years ago.

I have made contact with your rhythm guitar player who lives in Australia. We wrote to each other a while back and he even sent me a cd of the band. It is a treasured possession.
